Vivere...un po' più felici / Live...a little bit happier

                                                           "Lascia di quando in quando
i sentieri battuti e inoltrati fra i boschi.

                      "Leave occasionally the beaten track
                         and forwarded thorugh the Woods.
You'll find something you've never seen before
likely it will be a small thing
                              but don't ignore it"
                             Alexander Graham Bell

How much meaning in one sentence... Do you ever get lost to leave the trail safer...in serch of something new and to notice then that a little thing, that even small, can surprise you and give you good feelings?
Sometimes you don't need to stray to far... to discover that many of the things we're looking for...are already here. And in a time when many things are not going well just the little good things are necessary and...live...a bit happier...becomes a duty, a beautiful gift to yourself. In the end, at least for us, you do not need much, sometimes just being in company is enough to leave noisy thoughts, maybe enjoing a slice of cake made with love.

Obviously the finer things in life are many and varied for each, we chose this beacuse Giorgia gave us the inspiration with her creations, light and joyful pices, elegantly imperfect, to look, touch and live. Giorgia (GIOVE lab) live near a wood and it seems she transfer the essence of nature in what she creates by blossoming flowers into the cups, small animals on the plates or thoughts and words to sweeten the life of every day.

We were amazed when we read "live a little bit happier" on her plates, it was and it is perfect for us who try to do so every moment inspite of the small and big problems of everyday...and certanly perfect for many of you who never forget to live, to enjoy the little things and to go to that wood to miss and to be a bit happier, at least a bit!

Thanks to Giorgia Brunelli and to that wood that we will never stop exploring!

Sablè alle mandorle con crème fraiche, pesche e rosmarino / Almonds sablè with crème fraiche, peaches and rosemary

Buon Settembre a tutti!

We enjoy these last Summer days with this simple, tasty and fragrant recipe! The sablè is similar to short pastry but, as the name suggests, has a more sandy consistency, a dough perfect also for making cookies. Good September to everyone!

Per l'impasto / For the pastry

Per la crema / For the cream

Ingredienti
120g burro morbido
90g zucchero
1 uovo intero e un tuorlo
120g farina di mandorle
120g farina 00
16g lievito per dolci
un pizzico di sale

500g crème fraiche (o mascarpone o formaggio bianco)
scorza di 1 limone
2 cucchiai di zucchero alla vaniglia
1 cucchiaio di zucchero a velo
2/3 pesche noci
rosmarino

Lasciare riposare in frigorifero almeno 2 ore.
Enjoy!

Ingredients
120g soft butter
90g sugar
1 egg and 1 egg yolk
120g almonds flour
120g flour00
16g baking powder
a pinch of salt

500g crème fraiche (or mascarpone or White cheese)
1 lemmon zest
2 tablespoons vanilla sugar
1 tablespoon icing sugar
2/3 nectarines
Rosemary

Work the soft butter with the sugar until you get a cream, add a pinch of salt, one egg and one egg yolk, baking powder, almonds flour and mix. Slowly add the sifted flour00 kneading until you get a dough compact, smooth and soft to the touch. Let stand the sablè wrapped in film for about 2 hours in the refrigerator. Spread the dough with a rolling pin and place a disc in a springform pan (place a disc of oven paper on the base of the pan and a strip along the edges). Bake at 180°C in preheated oven, static top and bottom for about 15 minutes or until Golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool in the pan. Meanwhile mix the crème fraiche (a really delicious french cream that you can replace with mascarpone or White cheese) with lemmon zest, vanilla sugar and icing sugar (taste and if you need add more sugar) and cover the sablè with the cream to the edge of the pan (hang with a spatula on the surface). Let stand in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Remove the pan and the oven paper and decorate as you like: we add peaches cutted in slices (rubbed with half a lemmon) toasted almonds, Rosemary (goes great with peaches) and some caramel decorations. Is a fresh cake that you can redone in thousand ways and combinations, for example with figs or with the incoming Autumn fruits. Perfect for a really tasty afternoon snack illuminated by the warm light of September. Enjoy!

Consigli / Tips

La farina di mandorle è un po' costosa, se volete risparmiare qualcosa frullate le mandorle spellate / Almonds flour is a little expansive, if you want to save some money whisk blanched almonds.

Zucchero alla vaniglia / Vanilla sugar
